Editorial account sign-in uses a secure session cookie. News tips and corrections are stored in our database for authorized editorial staff. Name and email are optional and are used for follow-up. We store a protected hash of your network address to limit spam; the raw address is not saved with your tip. Submissions are not automatically published. Please do not send medical records or confidential case information.

On the public news.gjel.com site, Google Analytics measures readership and navigation in GJEL’s existing analytics property. The preview site, editorial desk, sign-in, and tip form are excluded from this measurement. We send page paths without search terms or form contents. Google may use cookies or similar technologies for measurement. See Google’s Privacy Policy for its data practices.

We also count public page loads in the newsroom database for the private operations report. This count stores the page path and time, without an IP address, visitor identifier, search terms, or form contents. It is separate from Google Analytics and does not identify people.
