Redding apartment crash injures two; damaged building ruled unsafe
Police reported minor injuries after an SUV struck three apartments near Lake Boulevard and Oasis Road.

What happened
A resident and a driver were injured when an SUV crashed into an apartment building near Lake Boulevard and Oasis Road in Redding on Wednesday, October 7, according to Redding police accounts reported by the Record Searchlight and KRCR.
Both were taken to Mercy Medical Center with injuries described by police as minor. The city determined that the damaged building was unsafe to occupy, the Record Searchlight reported.
What the reporting shows
KRCR reported that police, fire crews and ambulance personnel responded about 2:02 p.m. Police said the Hyundai was traveling west on Oasis Road before it continued through the T intersection and into the building. Three apartments were struck; two were occupied.
The station also published photographs from its own chief photographer, Adam McAllister, showing officers examining the damage.
Police said the driver appeared to have suffered a medical emergency and that drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors. The department’s Traffic Unit was still investigating in KRCR’s October 8 update.
