Bicyclist’s Death Reported Near Glenwood Drive and Bean Creek Road

A bicyclist's death was reported near Glenwood Drive and Bean Creek Road in the Scotts Valley area on August 26, 2026. The available dispatch record does not support treating a vehicle strike as an established fact.

Why this report has been corrected

A third-party archive of CHP dispatch messages shows an initial bicycle-versus-vehicle call around 12:30 p.m. A later entry, at 12:41 p.m., says responders did not believe it appeared to be a traffic crash while CPR was continuing. Another entry records a death declaration at 1 p.m.

Correction: The earlier version stated that the bicyclist died after being struck by a vehicle. That statement has been withdrawn because the later dispatch entry raises doubt about whether a crash occurred.

The archive says it is not associated with CHP. It is not a final investigation or medical finding. GJEL has not reviewed the original agency record, and the cause of death remains unconfirmed here. No conclusion about a driver, a vehicle or fault should be drawn from this brief.

Where family members can seek clarification

A family member can ask the responding agency which office holds the incident record and any death-investigation file. Use the date and the Glenwood Drive/Bean Creek Road location to help identify the response. Those records may answer different questions and may have different release requirements.

If you have relevant photographs, video or a firsthand account, preserve the original material and ask the agency how it should be submitted.

General information

A death does not, by itself, establish that another person is legally responsible. GJEL's bicycle accident information applies when a crash is established; it should not be taken as a conclusion about this incident. If your family wants help understanding records or a potential claim, you can request a free case review through GJEL's San Jose office.

Source checked September 8, 2026: CHPFatal.com's third-party reproduction of August 26 dispatch entries. The original CHP record and final cause of death were not independently obtained.
